Midterm. Students will take half of the district proficiency. A short answer on federalism and and ERQ on the branches of government, their powers, and their checks will be taken on Thursday. On friday students will take the MC segment AND a short test on government that will also be MC. Concepts to study: mercantalism, self government in the colonies, colonial region characterstics, articles of conferation failure, preamble, federalism, shay's rebellion, great compromise, 3/5th compromise, electoral college, bill of rights, federalists vs antifederalists, the constittution's 3 branches of government and system of checks and balances. Use the website nkaspers.weebly.com, constitution tab, to review with videos, powerpoints, and readings.
When we return from break we will study Washington through Jackson's presidencies and the struggles our early country faced. Then take the rest of the proficiency on Jan 10th. Please make sure your child has a notebook with LOTS of room in it for social studies upon their return from break. We will be back in them and working hard to get caught up.
There are no edmodo current events or vocab sentences this week. Students should create a study guide outline as homework and a draft of the ERQ. There is an edpuzzle due by Friday. There will be no homework over break.
